Tirana, 4 February 2022- Albania launched today one of the most important campaigns at the national and global level, that of safer internet for children and adolescents and their protection from violence and exploitation.
The campaign takes place within the framework of the International Safer Internet Day. The aim of the international day is to raise awareness of the most worrying issues that children and young people encounter while browsing internet, which requires the involvement of public institutions, society, and the internet industry.
This year, International Safer Internet Day takes place under the motto “Together for safer internet”. It encourages the Parliament, the Government, law enforcement institutions, the internet industry, CSOs, parents and children, to work together to establish an online safe environment for everyone.
The campaign this year takes place in more than 200 countries. In Albania the campaign will see the organisation of a series of activities, supported by the National Hotline ISIGURT.AL and CRCA / ECPAT Albania, in partnership with the Ministry of State for Youth and Children, the State Agency for the Rights and Protection of Children, etc. The main activities of the campaign are:
• 7th National Forum – “Together for a safer internet for Children and Youth in Albania”
• Publication of the annual report “Protection of children and young people online in Albania 2021”;
• Campaign “Sexual violence against children online is a CRIME! REPORT!”
• Publication of three guide brochures “For a Safer Internet for Children and Adolescents in Albania”, by ISIGURT.AL and CRCA / ECPAT Albania
