Tirana, 3 October 2025 — CRCA-ECPAT Albania, with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Tirana, presented this Friday at Europe House the joint initiative “Our Rights”, which aims to empower pre-university teachers in Albania to teach children their rights, based on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

The launch event gathered representatives from partner institutions such as the Ministry of Education and the State Agency for the Rights and Protection of the Child, whose representatives addressed the meeting, as well as organizations working for children’s rights, teachers, and education experts.

In his opening remarks, H.E. Mr. Jakob Stunf, Ambassador of Slovenia to Albania, welcomed the participants and underlined the importance of teaching children not only about their rights but also about their responsibilities, especially in a modern reality heavily influenced by the digital world.

Representatives of CRCA Albania presented “Our Rights” training methodology, which is accompanied by the Teacher’s Guidebook and the Book of Rights for students. The method was developed by Mrs. Blanka Jamnišek, Ambassador at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia and an expert on children’s rights.

The “Our Rights” initiative aims to strengthen teachers’ capacities to integrate child rights education into the teaching process. After the training, teachers return to their classrooms to organize open sessions and projects where children discuss their fundamental rights as defined in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. Each child receives the Book of Rights, which provides knowledge about child rights.

CRCA-ECPAT Albania and the Embassy of Slovenia through this joint initiative aim to promote a stronger culture of respect for children’s rights, making child rights education a natural and daily part of teaching and school life.
