As part of the Child Rights International Day, the 2021 World Congress on Justice for Children is taking place. Congress brings together children, young people and everyone else in the discussion of ensuring access to justice for all children, towards a non-discriminatory and inclusive child justice system.
The World Congress on Justice with Children is an international milestone that brings children together with policymakers, legal practitioners, academics and civil society representatives with relevant work experience to influence child justice, to explore best practices, to foster scientific cooperation and raise awareness of friendship with and for children in the justice system.
This large-scale event, which spans the continent and many countries around the world, will set out a global strategy to accelerate progress towards child-friendly justice. It will create the impetus for regional synergies and action plans for the next three years to provide regional guidelines for the implementation of the global strategy. Discussions at this congress focus on creating a way to gather national promise and reinforce policies and practices that make a real difference in the lives of children in contact with the law.
