INTEGRATED SERVICES FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH WHO HAVE SURVIVED SEXUAL VIOLENCE IN ALBANIA
This initiative of CRCA/ECPAT Albania aims to enable Albania to join European countries in preventing cases of sexual violence against children and young people, as well as provision of integrated psycho-social services, legal protection, criminal prosecution, in an environment of only, for all survivors of violence, exploitation or sexual harassment! BARNAHUS Albania is a member of the Promise Network, which implements at European level, the effective model of treating cases of sexual violence against children and adolescents. BARNAHUS Albania coordinates and brings in a single place psycho-social, community and legal services. It is a child-friendly centre that offers multidisciplinary services with cross-sectoral coordination. BARNAHUS Albania offers a system of services that responds to the specific needs of children victims or suspects of sexual violence. We are still continuing the work for the modelling the service. As in other European countries where this model is applied, Barnahus Albania aims that the interview for criminal investigation and specialized medical services will be provided in this centre, thus fulfilling the provision of all necessary services for children or adolescents victims of sexual violence. In the framework of providing integrated services, Barnahus Albania is coordinated and cooperates with public institutions and other actors involved in child protection such as: National Police, National Agency for the Protection and the Rights of the Child, Prosecution Office and Courts, Child Protection Employees, the National Child Helpline ALO 116-111, and other organisations or local and central institutions.
