
Tirane on November 18, 2014 – ALO 116 the National Child Help Line, in the context of November 19, the International Day of Violence Against Children, made public the report which displays violence against children in Albania based on the received phone calls and treated cases during a 6 year-period on ALO 116.
This day, the National Child Help Line invited representatives of public institutions, international institutions and civil society organizations on the intention to introduce them with ALO 116’s work, bringing on attention the needs and concerns children report according to violence.
Through this presentation, the participants were informed on the number of reported cases related to abuse and neglect against children in Albania and based on the data ALO 116 recommended them to be used in the policy making for children’s protection in our country.
The Data Report of ALO 116 for violence against children in Albania should be valid to turn this information into work priorities for the public institutions and several civil society organizations too.
The aim of this day was to highlight the progress of the dialogue on the children abuse field and to improve the way to respond on the prevention of violence against children. Therefore, it is important to provide more social services and to strength the child protection system.
During this day, ALO 116 dedicated a special space to “I Buy ALO 116”, where every participant had the chance to buy presents for children, friends and relatives with ALO’s logo and this way to offer his/her support for children and the unique service .
ALO 116 – The National Child Help Line Albania, with the support of CRCA, UNICEF and mobile companies, provides for all children the necessary help and support whenever they need.
This National service responds to children’s needs 24/7 days a week and free, on their most difficult moments. ALO 116 is a key point of the referral system for children’s services in the country.
The main purpose of ALO 116 to protect children at a risky situation and to refer them as soon as possible to the existing services child protection system in our country.
