Tirana, March 31, 2022 – During the first months of this year, the attention of CRCA / ECPAT Albania, is focused on the problems posed not only by the insecure internet in our country, but also the continuation of work for the protection of victims of sexual violence, whether these children and young people, as well as the main global concern over the safety of Ukrainian children in war-torn areas.
The media is again included in the coverage of all issues covered by CRCA / ECPAT Albania in this 3-month period.
The beginning of the year started with the launch of one of the most important campaigns at the national and global level, that of safe internet and protection of children and adolescents from violence and exploitation on the Internet. The campaign took place in the framework of the International Safer Internet Day, a day that belongs to the whole world and in which our country has been a part since 2005. The purpose of this day is to raise awareness about the most worrying issues that children and young people face in web browsing, which requires the involvement of public institutions, society and the internet industry. Then followed with a large forum organized by CRCA / ECPAT Albania and the National Platform ISIGURT.AL on the Internet and the safety of its use in Albania.
ONLINE SEXUAL VIOLENCE AND HARASSMENT OF CHILDREN CONTINUES TO RAISE IN ALBANIA!
In this forum, the National Platform ISIGURT.AL, raised the alarm for the continuation of the increase of violence and sexual harassment on the Internet against children and adolescents in Albania. This has been accompanied by an increase in the number of sites and materials containing sexual violence against children online. The figures were made public in the Annual Report of the National Line for Safe Internet for Children (ISIGURT.al) and CRCA / ECPAT Albania at the 7th Internet Security Forum in Albania. This forum was followed and widely covered in the Albanian media, the links of which can be found attached:
