
Tirana, 9 November 2012 – CRCA and the Coalition for Promotion of Women and Youth in Politics, that aims to advocate women and youth participation in politics and decision-making, in collaboration with ”Tirana Youth Leadership”, organise the Public Consultation of Youth Manifesto on 9 November 2012.
The Consultation aimed to present and discuss widely the Youth Manifesto with young persons, youth forums and groups. This was in order to bring the real concerns of one of the biggest groups of our society to the government, public institutions and political parties.
The Youth Manifesto is a document that lays down the principal requests pin pointed as well as their problems and concerns. These Manifesto is a product of ”Tirana Youth Leadership”, as well as widely consulted with youth organisations and groups.
Initially, the representatives of ”Tirana Youth Leadership” presented the five columns of the Manifesto: Inclusive and Qualitative Education; Youth representation in decision-making; Youth Employment; Public spaces for the youth; Health care for the youth. Then, the participants were organised in five groups of discussions in order to make suggestions and remarks according to the points of the Manifesto.
The aim of the final Manifesto, taking into account the changes done from the open discussion, is to distribute it with the Political Parties, the Parliament, the Government and the heads of the Municipalities in Albania to address the main concerns and expectations of the Youth. Authorities and stakeholders should take in consideration the requests and expectations of the youth.
In these consultation took part representatives from youth political forums from, PS, PR, PDIU, AK, LSI, PC, etc, from Youth NGOs like RVSH, Youth Parliament, Beyond Barriers, Youth Unity, Mjaft movement; representatives of Tirana Municipality; KMD, representatives of international organisations, Media etc.
