I would like to express my gratitude to CRCA/ECPAT Albania for inviting me to become an Ambassador against child sexual violence and exploitation!
In Albania, 1 in 10 children is a victim of sexual violence! Worldwide, 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys will be a victim of sexual violence and exploitation before their 18th birthday. Sexual violence does not ask about age or gender!
It seeks to subdue and destroy the dignity of the human being!
Throughout my career, I have given my voice to hundreds of girls and women from the world’s greatest Opera masterpieces.
Today I’m adding my voice to all girls and boys, victims and survivors of sexual violence and exploitation in Albania and anywhere in the world! I invite girls and boys, children and young people, find the courage and bravery and report any incident of sexual violence!
Silence doesn’t help!
I ask the public institutions not to be silent in the face of child sexual violence and exploitation!
Our children need support, care and protection!
