The meeting marked the start of preparations for Albania’s national awareness campaign, which will culminate on 11 February, as part of the International Safer Internet Day celebrations.
The session focused on coordinating institutional efforts to promote a safer online environment for all, especially children and young people, and to plan joint activities for this year’s campaign.
Participating institutions included: National Cybersecurity Authority, State Agency for Child Rights and Protection, State Social Service, State Police, ALO 116 – National Child Helpline, Save the Children Albania, along with other organizations active in child protection and digital safety.
A key point of discussion was the organization of the National Safer Internet Forum, which will be held on 11 February. This year’s forum marks the 10th anniversary of the national forums organized by iSIGURT.al. High-level participation is expected from the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Education and Sports, Audiovisual Media Authority, and other national and international partners.
The Committee also began planning the Second National Forum, which will focus specifically on children with disabilities and their digital safety. The Center for the Protection of Persons with Disabilities will play a leading role in this initiative.
“Institutional cooperation and the involvement of all stakeholders are essential to ensure a safer internet for children. This campaign is a call for sustained joint action—not just on a symbolic day, but throughout the year,” said representatives of iSIGURT.al
