CRCA and Google to work together for protection of children and youth online in Albania

Every 3 days a child in Albania reports unsafe internet!

Tirana, 16 January 2020 - CRCA / ECPAT Albania notified today that it has concluded an agreement with Google for the protection of children and youth online in Albania.

For the last 5 years, CRCA is the only agency that is protecting children and young people from online threats through the National Platform for Child Internet Safety in Albania ( The hotline works together with the National Safer Internet Centreto follow up reports of online incidents and provide protection to children and youth who fall victims of online abuse and exploitation.

Despite measures taken by the authorities, the number of children and adolescents affected every day by unsafe Internet continues to grow. In the last three years, that number has reached over 300 children, marking a significant increase in 2019.

The national hotline ISIGURT.AL  during 2019 received about 100 reports of unsafe internet, while 67 children and adolescents required our help to close stolen profiles, or deal with cyber bulling, online threats sexual harassment and pornography.

A year ago, CRCA Albania agreed with Facebook to work together to protect children and youth in Facebook and Instagram. The new agreement with Google expands the scope and possibilities for the protection of children and adolescents from online abuse and exploitation.

CRCA/ECPAT Albania invites children and adolescents, parents and teachers, who encounter safety issues while online to report and seek assistance at the national hotline in web browser or via the mobile app.
