Tirana, September 20, 2019 - Albania joins this year's world movement # FridaysForFuture #! The Climate Strike Week begins on 20 September 2019 which will continue until 27 September 2019 and consists of developing awareness raising campaigns / awareness events for governments to take concrete measures to protect and protect the environment. Over 115 countries and about 1000 cities are already registered to be part of this global movement, including Albania.
In May of this year, the global campaign for environmental protection #FridaysForFuture#, joined CRCA / ECPAT Albania and the Tirana Youth Parliament, which consisted of organizing a manifestation aimed at raising awareness of government, public institutions and citizens on the importance of taking measures to protect the environment from pollution and destruction.
On Friday, 20 September 2019, at 13.00, in front of the Prime Minister's Office and the Assembly, the youth of the Youth Parliament join in a demonstration in front of the Prime Minister's building. Alongside the placards, which contained environmental awareness and awareness messages, a globe-shaped sheet was also presented, highlighting the urgent need to take concrete measures to protect and protect the environment.
Children and youth environmental marches / manifestations have been taking place in European cities for one year, with the aim of influencing state policies in environmental protection and protection. These marches / manifestations were initiated in August 2018 by Greta Thunberg, due to the lack of concrete government action to preserve and protect the environment.
The manifestation of September 20, in front of the Prime Minister's building, is the second climate protection movement that the Youth Parliament is implementing in a short span of time.
