Scientific Conference - Violence Against Children In Albania

The Ministry of Social Welfare and Youth, the State Agency for Protection of Children’s Rights, Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Tirana and CRCA Albania, with the support of UNICEF and in collaboration with Terre des Hommes, World Vision, Save the Children, Partners for Children, ALO 116, Centre for Integrated Legal Services and Practices, Tirana Legal Aid Society, Observatory for Child Rights, Arsis, Children Toda, and  Shkej, have the pleasure to invite you to the:

National Conference for the Protection of Children from Violence, 22 December 2016, 9.30, at the Aula Magna, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Tirana.

The aim of the conference is to discuss solutions and best practices with regard to the response to and prevention of violence against children. The conference is organized in the framework of the broader discussions around the draft law “On the Rights and Protection of the Child” in Albania. The event aims to bring together public institutions, civil society organizations and academia with a view to encourage stronger activism in promoting and respecting child rights.

The conference is organized in the framework of two important government initiatives: The Social Welfare Pact and #UnëMbrojFëmijët (I Protect). The conference is organized in the framework of UNICEF Albania programme "Protecting children from violence in Albania", implemented by the Children Human Rights Centre of Albania, which aims to strengthen the partnership between civil society organizations and public decision-makers, in order to strengthen public policies and services in identifying, reporting, and referring cases of violence against children.
