The International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children -ICMEC, published the First Annual GMCN Impact Reporton the situation of missing children in the world during 2020. The report summarizes the stories that experts have identified in 2020 of missing, exploited, abducted, abused children , or even those seeking to leave their homes due to inadequate living conditions.
The Global Report also reflects the close cooperation that this centre had with Albania through its partner CRCA / ECPAT Albania during 2020, for the creation of the Amber Alert signal, a system that creates the link between law enforcement agencies, police experts and national centers. missing children, to identify, find and rescue children.
ICMEC provided training to more than 45,000 law enforcement professionals, healthcare workers, and educators by 2020, also equipping international schools and educators with more than 100 resources specifically addressing the challenges of COVID-19, including adaptation to virtual learning environments and helping students cope with stress.
ICMEC and all its global partners are committed to bringing any missing and exploited child back to safety ,no matter what it takes, no matter where in the world a child goes missing, and no matter the circumstances that surround why they go missing.
The centre has been established since 1998, and through its platform created two years ago, has assisted over 2000 missing children, generated over 6.8 billion views of missing child notifications online and engaged over 2.6 million citizens in stories of missing children through his website.
