Tirana, 22 September 2020 - CRCA/ECPAT Albania announced today the openning to the public of the National Center for Rehabilitation and Reintegration of Juveniles in Conflict with the Law (ACRJ), which will make possible in addition to providing consolidated alternative services such as information, mentoring, support and empowerment of the juveniles in conflict with the law, as well as free legal aid and psycho-social counseling. The ACRJ consists of a mix staff experts, such as two lawyers, a social worker, a psychologist, etc.
In November 2019, CRCA/ECPAT Albania launched its new programme “Hope for Juveniles in Conflict with the Law in Albania”, which aims to develop and promote alternative community-based services for children and youth in conflict with law, that support their positive development, while ensure the functioning of the juvenile justice and child protection systems.
“We are so proud for this achievement“ – said Altin Hazizaj, Executive Director of CRCA Albania – “One of the main objectives of the program was the establishment of the National Center for Rehabilitation and Reintegration of Juveniles in Conflict with the Law, which should bring together in one place all the necessary services to juveniles. Because of how the child protection and justice systems are constructedin Albania, bringing into a single environment the services needed for the rehabilitation and reintegration process of juveniles is a necessity.“
CRCA/ECPAT Albania since its establishment in June 1997 provides assistance and support to children and young people in conflict with the law, implementing some of most innovative models for their care. Since 2011, CRCA Albania is licensed to provide specialized national and community services, while it has 24 years of experience in child and youth care and protection services.
