Tirana, 08 January 2015–This year as well, the Children’s Human Rights Centre of Albania (CRCA) and the Human Rights House, with the support of the International Commercial Bank (ICB Bank), donated 100 packages for 3-6 year old children from Tiranë, Elbasan, Cërrik, Korçë, Maliq, Bilisht dhe Gjirokastër that were integrated in kindergartens during the first year of the initiative. These gifts were made possible thanks to the donation that the International Commercial Bank made to CRCA Albania, to help the most vulnerable people of society. In the framework of the UNICEF initiative “Every Roma child in the kindergarten”, this year’s focus was in helping 3-6 year old Roma children who live in extreme poverty and have shown utmost interest in the educational system.
It is the third time that such a big number of children are helped by CRCA and ICB Bank, one of the most serious banks in the country. The philanthropy of the International Commercial Bank was able to help 100, three to six year old, children from very difficult street, poverty, abandonment situations from Tiranë, Elbasan, Cërrik, Korçë, Maliq, Bilisht dhe Gjirokastër. Three to six year old children were provided with jackets, shoes, sneakers and other underclothing. In the city of Tirana food stamps were provided for one of the poorest Roma communities of the area.
The presents were distributed in the 4 regions where CRCA Albania works from October 2013 to integrate 3-6 year old children in preschool. Most of the presents were delivered at the houses of the children in a two week marathon at the end of December and beginning of January. Special thanks goes to ICB Bank, the CRCA staff, and local officials who with their relentless dedication to children are an example for all of us.
This year, for the first time aspecial gratitude goes to ADRA association as well, which enabled the donation of 140 gift packages for many other children that closed this year with a smile on their face. These gift packages were distributed in the Qarks of Tirana, Elbasan, and Gjirokastra near Roma families and community where they live. Sweets, toys, accessories and didactic materials were a happy ending for 2014 for Roma children who are in the process of registration or already are integrated in the preschool educational system.
From the social responsibility point of view, taking into consideration the cooperation with the International Commercial Bank, we sincerely hope this to be the continuation of a philanthropic culture of private businesses in the country. Thanks to these initiatives CRCA and ALO 116 can continue helping much more children every year.
CRCA WISHES TO ALL THE CHILDREN OF ALBANIA, A NEW YEAR FULL OF OPPORTUNITIES AND JOY!
