CRCA trains 20 young leaders in summer school – “Youth Participation in Local Government”
Children’s Rights Center of Albania– CRCA, ends successfully the summer schools “Youth Participation in Local Government” that was held in Jale from 9 till 12 September 2012.
20 youngsters from the group Leadership of Tirana Youth as well as representatives of youth political forums and several NGOs, were part of the educative and socializing program on the involvement in local government.
The methodology used during the summer school aimed at motivating interactivity, thus theory was intertwined with discussions, various games, and group work and social and leisure activities.
The topics for the training were selected and adapted by national and international experts, like the Director of CRCA- Altin Hazizja and Jay Porter- Political Officer at the United States Embassy in Tirana, Amarildo Fecanji- expert in media communication and Maylis Deverneuil & Lindita Bezhani from UNDP-Albana. The topics were chosen in accordance with the expectations of the applicants. The themes were about political and social; the role of civil society and political parties; communication techniques, lobbying and advocating with political parties, interest groups and local authorities; activation and mobilization of local communities for various social issues; technics of public speaking ;youth volunteering.
All the members of the school valued highly the topics of training as they fulfilled the need for information. They gave a lot of points to all the topics discussed by the trainers. The team work was extremely appreciated as a way to apply the information taken from the lessons, as a way to socialize and cooperate and fruitful for exchanging ideas and motivating activism.
The young leaders estimated that the training at this summer school will be useful in their activities as in: socializing, to present better in public, to realize their objectives, to improve their analytical skills, to create networking and to be more concrete in their efforts of lobbying and advocating. CRCA values this school as a mean to strengthen this group of young leaders with capabilities of affecting policy making and politics for the youth. This summer school also helped to create a great group of young leaders who will be active in local issues regarding youth, regardless of their political or social.
