
Tirana, 23 December 2012- CRCA/ECPAT Albania organized today the awarding ceremony of the participants of the 1st Multidisciplinary Academy of Professionals “For the protection of children and young people from violence and sexual exploitation”
For 6 months CRCA / ECPAT in cooperation with BARNAHUS Albania organized the Academy, conceived in a series of online training cycles with a mixed group of professionals working for the protection of children’s rights, such as CPU, PMF, doctors, pediatricians, police officers, judicial police officers, court prosecutors, representatives of civil society organizations.
The module of the 1st Multi-disciplinary Academy “For the protection of children and young people from violence and sexual exploitation” was based on the highest European standards, contemporary experiences in management and handling cases of children victims of sexual violence, online sexual exploitation and abuse, national legislations, policies, standards and work protocols.
Throughout the development of the Academy, professionals strengthened their capacities on standard procedures in successful management of cases of children victims of sexual violence; addressing and recognizing the Albanian legislation as a whole on the protection of children in the phenomenon of harassment, violence and sexual exploitation in our country; identifying challenges across case management and service delivery to standardize professionally all services etc.
The Academy was organized by CRCA / ECPAT Albania in cooperation with BARNAHUS Albania and the National Resource Center for Youth in Albania – YRCA, within the initiative “Building a coordinated response system to sexual violence against children and adolescents in Albania.”
During January, the call for participation in the 2nd Multi-disciplinary Academy “For the protection of children and youth from violence in Albania” will be launched.
