Tirana 6 July 2023 – The Parliament of Albania announced today that the Child Rights Centre Albania (CRCA/ECPAT Albania), has been officially accepted to be a member of the National Council for European Integration in the Parliament. 

The National Council of European Integration of the Albanian Parliament (NCEI) was established by Law No. 15/2015, dated 03/05/2015, “On the role of the Parliament in the European Integration process of the Republic of Albania with the EU”, as the highest national advisory structure on the European integration that is set by the Albanian Parliament, with the aim of promoting and guaranteeing comprehensive cooperation between political parties, public institutions and civil society, as well as increasing transparency in decision-making process. 

The opening of EU negotiations with Albania, has highlighted the role of the Parliamnet and civil society should have in terms of supporting the process, but also providing expertise in the areas of expertise. CRCA/ECPAT Albania is a leading agency in the field of child and youthb rights, hence the participation in this Council has a special value for both the organization and the Parliament itself. 

CRCA/ECPAT Albania works to promote respect for the rights of children and young people, to protect them from violence, abuse and exploitation, to increase child and youth participation in decisionmaking at the local and national level, through lobbying and advocacy, improving policies and legislation, capacity building, information and research, as well as establishing effective modcels of social care and protection.
