
21 June 2024 – CRCA/ECPAT Albania awarded this evening the a certificate of gratitude the Slovenian Ambassador to Albania, Mr. Peter Japelj and his wife Renata Marmulaku Japejl, with the motivation: For the extraordinary contribution to the protection and advancement of children’s rights in Albania. In this context CRCA handed over to Mr. Japejl the statuette of CRCA in gratitude for the support given by the Slovenian Embassy in Albania.
The award took place on the occasion of the National Day of Slovenia, as well as on the ceremony of departure from Albania of the Ambassador and his family.
Since his arrival to Albania, Ambassador Japelj and his wife have been involved in many child rights public consultations and meetings, bringing Slovenia’s experience in protecting the rights of the child. They have been instrumental in supporting CRCA work in some of the most difficult cases of sexual violence against children, while providing support for the advancement of the rights of the child.
Thanks to his dedication, he made it possible for Albania to join the Slovenian initiative “Our Rights”, which consists of training teachers according to a simple and highly practical method on the rights of the child, while the teachers when they go back to their classrooms have the task of developing at least three classes of awareness to teach children their rights. Over 300 teachers and 6,000 students across Albania have benefited from the training and the materials that have been prepared so far.
