Tirana, 10 February 2021 - The General Director of National Probation Services, Bernard Durro and the Executive Director of CRCA/ECPAT Albania, Altin Hazizaj signed today in the premises of the Directorate of Probation Services, the cooperation agreement for the provision of integrated services for children and youth in conflict with the law in Albania. Since several years, the Probation Service and CRCA/ECPAT Albania have a very positive cooperation and this cooperation agreement further strengthens the work for the protection of children and youth in conflict with the law and their reintegration into society.
As of today, children and youth in conflict with the law who need legal and psychological services, vocational education and better employment opportunities, thanks to the cooperation between CRCA/ECPAT Albania and the Probation Services, will receive such services for free of charge in three major urban areas: Tirana, Kora and Elbasan.
Since 1 September 2020, CRCA/ECPAT Albania is implementing the initiative "Hope for Children and Youth in Conflict with the Law in Albania" in the framework of the project " Contributing in the Amelioration of Human Rights Standards in and out the Penitentiary System in Albania” which is funded by the European Union and implemented by TLAS in partnership with the European Center Foundation in Albania.
In this regard, CRCA/ECPAT Albania provides, through the newly established the National Center for Rehabilitation and Reintegration of Juveniles in Conflict with the Law, integrated services for children and youth in conflict with the law such as: legal information, counseling and psycho-social support; free legal aid; monitoring and assistance for the progress of the reintegration process of children and youth in conflict with the law; support for the reintegration into society of children and youth in conflict with the law through capacity building, vocational training; career counseling and mediation with public institutions to provide employment for young people in conflict with the law in order to facilitate their reintegration.
