
The Regional Conference on Financing of education in the Middle East and East Europe, by the Arab Campaign for Education (ACEA) took place for the first time in Beirut Lebanon. Coinciding with the Global Action Week for Education (GAWE), in Lebanon gathered all national and regional civil society coalitions, main stakeholders and key actors of the education sector in the region.
In the meeting where all education partners came together to share experiences, the Executive Director of CRCA Albania, Mr. Altin Hazizaj, has reported on financing education in the South-East Europe countries. He highlighted that the accountability to Education 2030 for all countries consolidate and reinforce the advocacy for better and quality financing of education in the region.
Under the title “Financing Education 2030: Revisiting the role of civil society in the region of Middle East & and East Europe”, all education coalitions shows that civil society plays a major role in enhancing accountability systems to the 2030 Education Agenda.
The education coalitions from Albania, Georgia and Moldova presented the good practices on advocacy for more inclusive education for all those who have the right to be educated.
Meanwhile, Mr. Mirgit Vataj on behalf of the Albanian Coalition for Education presented the latest findings from the research of Albanian Coalition for Education, which analyses data on state budget for education during the last 10 years.
Events such as GAWE and the ACEA conference are vital in enhancing and showcasing collaborative efforts of global, regional and local actors advocating for better financing for education.
